Collaborative Delivery of GNSS Anti-Jam Technology with NovAtel

Teleplan Forsberg are a trusted reseller and integration partner for NovAtel solutions, helping customers enhance their Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) resilience in challenging operational environments.

Electronic warfare continues to pose a growing threat to GNSS-dependent systems. To address this challenge, we work closely with NovAtel to integrate, test, and deploy GNSS anti-jam technology that protects critical satellite signals from both intentional jamming and unintentional interference.

Through land and maritime programmes, we have helped bring proven anti-jam capabilities into operational service, supporting assured PNT where signal availability is mission-critical.

Testing GNSS Anti-Jam Technology in the Land Domain

In 2021, Teleplan Forsberg supported the operational evaluation of NovAtel’s GNSS Anti-Jam Technology (GAJT) with the Light Dragoons during NATO exercises in Poland.

The trials brought together British Army personnel and industry partners to assess anti-jam performance in a representative operational environment. GAJT protected GNSS signals used for essential positioning and timing data, enabling capabilities to be exercised under realistic electronic warfare conditions.

The evaluation formed part of a wider effort to understand how resilient PNT systems can support military operations in contested environments.

Anti-Jam Integration for the Type 26 Frigate

GNSS resilience is equally important in the maritime domain. NovAtel’s GAJT technology has been selected as part of the navigation and timing protection architecture for the Royal Navy’s Type 26 frigate programme.

Requirement

The programme required a GNSS anti-jam solution capable of protecting navigation and timing systems from interference and jamming while meeting demanding naval requirements. The solution needed to:

  • Maintain access to satellite signals required for position and timing calculations
  • Operate reliably under high shock and vibration loads
  • Withstand long-term exposure to harsh marine environments
  • Integrate with existing shipboard power, data and RF systems

Solution

Working alongside a systems integrator, Teleplan Forsberg supplied the NovAtel GAJT 700MS integrated CRPA antenna and receiver, supported by a bespoke interface and junction solution designed for platform-specific requirements.

Our team completed the design, integration, testing, assembly, and production of the units. Deliveries have been completed under the current contract, with potential opportunities to support future programmes as the Type 26 platform enters service with international customers.

Delivering Assured PNT Through Collaboration

Successful GNSS anti-jam deployments require more than technology alone. They depend on effective integration, rigorous testing, and a clear understanding of operational requirements.

By combining NovAtel‘s assured PNT solutions with Teleplan Forsberg’s engineering and integration expertise, customers can deploy resilient navigation and timing systems with confidence across land, maritime, and other mission-critical applications.
