Showcasing MANTIS during 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery’s winter deployment exercise.
Requirement:
- Provide kit and technology for exercising troops from 29 Commando.
- Collaborate with other companies to provide the best possible solution.
- Prove MANTIS’ ability to operate in extreme cold environments.
Solution:
- Temperatures of -30°C caused issues with the displays and batteries on tablet devices but MANTIS software continued to function.
- We successfully integrated new effectors and simulated Link16 into MANTIS, enabling communication with live jets.
- MANTIS capability allowed senior officers to communicate to and track ground troops without the use of verbal communication. This was praised for it’s positive contribution to safety during the exercise.
