To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, we’ve shone the spotlight on current apprentices Josh, Robben and Gemma, to celebrate their inspiring journeys so far and their exciting plans for the future.
Our Office and Customer Experience Coordinator, Gemma began her apprenticeship journey in August last year. She’s currently studying towards her level 3 Business Administrator qualification, provided by Lancaster and Morecambe College. The apprenticeship is 1 year in total, made up of several assignments, and is heavily based on independent learning.
“Forsberg provided the opportunity and support for me to gain a new qualification in Business Administration and further develop my skills within my current role. I have received great support so far, from everyone, throughout all areas and levels of the business. My colleagues are always happy to offer their time and support to aid my learning.”
Gemma Lord, Customer Experience Coordinator, Forsberg Services Ltd.
Robben and Josh, Production Assistants within the Production & Engineering department at Forsberg, are both currently working towards completing their level 2 Engineering Operative qualification at Lancaster and Morecambe College.
Josh joined Forsberg in September 2021 through Kickstart, a government scheme to create high quality work placements for young people. This was Josh’s first introduction to Engineering, which he acknowledges he had no real interest in or knowledge of until he joined Forsberg.
“Once I started to understand the products and what they do, I became fascinated with how we design, build and develop them to create innovative solutions. When Forsberg offered me the Apprenticeship, I knew it was an amazing opportunity. I’m excited to complete my Apprenticeship this year to be able to use all the skills I’ve learnt so far and put them into practice as a qualified Engineering Technician here at Forsberg.”
Josh Murgatroyd, Production Assistant, Forsberg Services Ltd.
Robben joined Forsberg in July 2022, and alongside Josh, they both began their apprenticeships in the September of that year.
“The support I have received from Forsberg throughout my apprenticeship so far has been brilliant. Everyone is really supportive of my learning, with a strong emphasis on encouraging my future career plans.”
Robben Ireland, Production Assistant, Forsberg Services Ltd.
Once Robben has completed his Level 2 qualification, he plans to further his learning by gaining a TechBac qualification and a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering which will assist in achieving his goals to become a Mechanical Engineer.
In light of National Apprenticeship Week, it’s an honour to support our apprentices, in gaining their qualifications and throughout their career progression. We look forward to their future successes and truly recognise the value they add to us as a company.
