On 28th April Forsberg hosted students from local high school, Morecambe Bay Academy, as part of an industry sector day provided by Inspira for Life, through the Lancashire Careers Hub contract and Lancaster & Morecambe College.

Lancashire Careers Hub works collaboratively with regional schools and colleges, businesses, and voluntary sectors to improve career education and outcomes for young people. This industry sector day introduced the students to the range of available opportunities in the Lancaster and Morecambe area within a sector that enables new and exciting technologies.

It was fantastic to be a part of this day to provide an insight into our fascinating industry and to showcase the broad range of careers available. Employees across a range of departments provided an overview of their role in the company.

Product Manager Danny shared what a typical day in the Research and Development team looks like for him and a snapshot of the events he has had the opportunity to attend as a part of this role.

Project Manager Danielle explained the responsibilities of her role and how multiple projects are organised and managed at all the different stages.

The range of different types of engineering were explained to the students then Electronics Engineer Tom, Mechanical Engineer Lee and Software Engineer Jessie all talked individually about their own engineering roles and what can be expected in a typical day.

Production Technician Josh provided an overview of the products he works on describing the different inspection and manufacturing stages and generally, what his role involves.

This was followed by product demonstrations and a tour of the building. The students at Morecambe Bay Academy were engaged and inquisitive and were a pleasure to host. We look forward to more events of this kind in the near future to contribute towards promoting the career development of future generations and upskilling in the ElecTech sector.
